Yasmin
The title of Yasmin’s project has been ‘Conglomeration’ and she has been fascinated by putting opposing visual and cultural elements together and so questioning the nature of her identity:
‘Just like a Himalayan cat, I too feel like I am part of a larger culture and continent than Europe or Asia; I feel Eurasian. Their cultures have influenced each other greatly and I see myself as prime proof of the mutualism between the two. ”A work of art is a world in itself reflecting senses and emotions of the artist's world”and as Hans Hofmann put it, I sense the coexistence and synergy of the two cultures both in myself and in my art.’
Inspired by photographers such as Lee Miller and graphic artists such as M.C. Escher, Yasmin has used her self as model to create an exciting visual world.
