Shadow Puppets 2021-22

In the developing of their set designs for The Magic Flute, the pupils also looked at characterisation and, they realised shadowy figures inspired by the work of German film-maker Lotte Reiniger. She was the foremost pioneer of silhouette animation. Her best known films are The Adventures of Prince Achmed, from 1926, the first feature-length animated film, and Papageno (1935).
