Animation: Act I & II

‘Nous’: Final Act

The main character is called ‘Nous’ which is an Ancient Greek word meaning intellect or perception – in other words, ‘the mind’s eye’.

Theo

‘The WLFS Art trip to Madrid in February 2020, without a doubt, was one of my most influential experiences, in terms of my artistic development. It reinforced which artists most inspire me today, including Bosch, Goya and Picasso, who’s work and ideas played an important part in the development of this piece. These artists were the inspiration for my initial ideas, kick-started the project and defined its direction.’

Theo put music he composed to his own complex stop-frame animations to create a highly unique place that is derived from the subconscious: "a world of dreams and nightmares, in which forms seem to flicker and change before our eyes". (Walter Gibson on Hieronymous Bosch)

Theo was also short-listed for the prestigious Sovereign Art Prize in London 2020 for his pencil drawing of a Hieronymous Bosch-inspired landscape.
