Summary

On Monday 7th February 2022, Year 12 artists went to the White City regeneration area by special invitation from a WLFS parent Mr Height who works for the developers Mitsui Fudosan Group and with the famous builders Sir Robert McAlpine, chief architect Billy Choi and structural engineer Amy Menzel. We had a tour of the construction site and were given an overview of how such a development comes together. This is an exciting new creative hub with such institutions as the RCA, L'Oreal and Imperial College having moved in. The brief for Year 12 in their Architecture and Graphic Design unit of Art Alevel is design a poster that promotes the area and bringing a cohesive identity to all the companies that have moved in. Funnily enough the council have also employed a team to respond to exactly the same brief. The posters designed by Year 12 will then be sent to be judged by the main stakeholders involved in the White City plan. Fostering these external links has proved fruitful as we have been offered some excellent work experience opportunities as well.
