Brutal Beauty: Jean Dubuffet at The Barbican

This was the first School Art Trip since March 2020!!

Year 12 Art and History of Art students on the 12th of July visited the exhibition of the post-war pioneer of Art Brut and Outsider Art. This is the first major show in London of Jean Dubufet for a very long time by an artist who inspired many famous street artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. Year 12 greatly enjoyed the work and were surprised by the 'anti-aesthetic' of Dubuffet's work whilst as always impressed by the Brutalist architecture of The Barbican.
