Three Year 13 Artists were selected to represent WLFS in the highly prestigious and international Sovereign Art Foundation prize in the first year it has been held in London.

The students went to see the exhibition and the Art Department Staff also visited the exciting exhibition in central London.

Fritzie was awarded the coveted 'Public Vote Award' with her excellent painting of the life model 'Imogen' from 20 finalists in London.

Fritzie then went on to be selected for the Global Prize PublicVote again!

‘IMOGEN’

Dimension: 60 x 84cm Medium: Acrylic on canvas

Using a drawing from direct observation the image was then simplified and developed into a painting.

Lily

‘UNTITLED (UNDER THE FLYOVER AT BOSTON MANOR AFTER THE PRE RAPHAELITES)’

Dimension: 60 x 84cm Medium: Digital photograph

The photoshoot was inspired by the iconic pre-raphelite image 'Ophelia'. It has another wordly quality that is evocative of Tarkovsky's polaroids as well. Edition 1/3

Theo

‘UNTITLED (AFTER BOSCH)’

Dimension: 42 x 30cm Medium: Pencil on paper

After a school art trip to Madrid's Prado this year in February, the drawing was inspired by Bosch's 'Garden of Earthly Delights'. The monochrome quality adds a sinister air to the image.
